QC8500 – Quikchem Flow Injection Analysis ( FIA ) System

Lachat Instruments

Flow Injection Analysis (FIA)

What is FIA? Flow injection analysis (FIA), is a technique for automated, wet‐chemical analysis. The methodology used by the flow injection analyzer is similar to that used by other continuous flow auto analyzers, which share continuously flowing reagent streams, reaction ‘manifolds’, and flow‐through detectors. FIA is used in labs where the amount of testing needed is too high for manual methods.

QC8500 – Quikchem Flow Injection Analysis ( FIA ) System

Overview

Lachat’s Quikchem® 8500 Series 2 Flow Injection Analysis System features high sample throughput and simple, rapid method changeover. The Quikchem Flow Injection Analysis system maximizes productivity in determining ionic species in a variety of sample types, from sub-ppb to percent concentrations. With over 400 methods for environmental, agronomic and industrial applications, including USEPA accepted and equivalent methods, the Quikchem 8500 will satisfy all your analytical requirements.

Flow Injection Analysis Features:

The Quikchem 8500 Series 2 is the latest update to the Lachat Quikchem Flow Injection Analysis platform:

  • Runs up to 5 channels for high productivity analysis or dedicated operation
  • Throughputs of up to 120 samples and standards per hour per channel.
  • 2-cm flow cell flow injection analysis methods allow more signal for detection at lower levels
  • In-line sample preparation methods for analytes like Cyanide, Ammonia and Surfactants (MBAS) available

FIA and Ion Chromatography on one platform:

  • Operation of FIA and IC simultaneously and independently on the same instrument
    platform
  • Shared use of several peripherals including sampler, dilutor, sampling pump,
    electronics unit and data station
  • Uniform operating protocols
  • Reduced footprint
  • Unified training, service and support

Software:

  • Runs Omnion 4.0 software on 64 bit Windows 7 or 8 operating systems
  • Omnion software interface in multiple languages – including Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, and Italian
